What we collect through this website

Information you give us

Our catering and event inquiry form collects:

  • Your name
  • Company name (optional)
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Reason for inquiry
  • Number of guests (optional)
  • Date of your catering order or event
  • Any details you choose to include in the message field

We use this information for one purpose: to respond to your inquiry and plan your order or event. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it.

If you email or call us directly, we keep that correspondence for the same reason — to answer you and to keep a record of your order.

Information collected automatically

Our website runs on WordPress and is hosted by a third-party hosting provider. Standard server logs record technical information including your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running correctly.

The site uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for basic website function.

Third-party services

Some things on our site are operated by other companies. When you use them, your information goes to those companies and is governed by their privacy policies, not this one. We do not control what they collect or how they use it.

  • Online ordering and delivery. Our “Order Online” links take you to Toast, Uber Eats, or DoorDash. Any name, address, phone number, or payment information you enter is collected by those platforms. We receive only the order details needed to prepare and fulfill your order.
  • Social media. Links to Instagram, Facebook, and Yelp take you to platforms operated by those companies.
  • Reviews. Google reviews displayed on our site were published publicly by their authors on Google.
  • Hosting. Our website host processes site data on our behalf under contract.

Consent

When you fill out our catering form, call us, or email us, you are consenting to our use of that information to respond to you and handle your request. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. If you withdraw consent, we may no longer be able to fulfill a pending order or booking.

Marketing email

We do not add people to a marketing list from the catering form. If we ever send commercial email, we will do so only with your consent as required by CASL, and every message will identify us and include a working unsubscribe link.

How long we keep information

We keep catering and event inquiries only as long as needed to respond to you, complete the event, and meet our business and tax record-keeping obligations. After that, information is deleted or destroyed.

How we protect information

We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including access controls limiting staff access to those who need it, encrypted connections (HTTPS) on our website, and keeping our website software and hosting environment maintained and up to date.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. Please do not send credit card numbers, banking details, or other sensitive financial information through our contact or catering forms.

Disclosure

We disclose personal information only:

  • to service providers who help us operate the website or fulfill your order, under agreements requiring them to protect it;
  • where required or permitted by Canadian law, including in response to a lawful order or a legal investigation;
  • with your consent.

Some of our service providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens, the information may be accessible to courts and law enforcement in that jurisdiction under the laws that apply there.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you can:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and be told how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed;
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Withdraw consent to our continued use of it;
  • Complain about how we have handled it.

Send requests to info@jzspizza.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity before releasing information. Access is provided at no cost or at minimal cost, and we will tell you in advance if any cost applies.

Children

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this site.

Privacy breaches

If a breach of our security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and report the breach to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as PIPEDA requires.
